Stacy Garnick
Education Director
Shalom, my name is Stacy Garnick. I own a pair of 3D hologram glasses that make candle flames and lights appear like they are streaming Stars of David. Those cardboard glasses pretty much sum up my Jewish education philosophy. I want my students to not only think about Judaism when they’re in a synagogue, on holidays, or when they become Bar/Bat Mitzvah. I want them to look at the world everyday through Jewish eyes — to constantly think about Hillel’s Golden Rule, how they can participate in Tikkun Olam (Repairing the World), to know that Judaism can inform their choices, and that they are the future of Am Yisrael! I strive to break the insidious cycle of kids dreading to go to Hebrew School and calling it — gasp! — “boring.”
I have extensive experience as a Jewish educator. I love sharing innovative and creative ways to get Jews energized about their Jewish heritage. I am very much looking forward to meeting and making connections to my students and their families.
I live in Amherst in the home I made with my late husband Darren. Our son Ari lives and works near Boston, and our daughter, Dahlia lives with me. We love swimming in The Dead Sea, picnicking near Thomas Dambo wooden trolls, and hanging out in our backyard treehouse. My favorite activities include growing green beans and hosting make-your-own-sundae parties.

David Scheiber
Teacher
Dave has been an educator in various settings for over 15 years. Originally from Albany, NY, and raised in the conservative Jewish community there, he discovered his love for music at a young age. Dave taught vocal and instrumental music in New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire. He has served as a high holiday cantorial soloist and a Bar Mitzvah tutor, both in person and online. Dave taught Hebrew School for seven years in communities in Albany and Potsdam, NY, as well as Hanover, NH. His Jewish education culminated with his family’s move to Israel for the 2020-2021 school year, where he taught English in the public schools of Eilat. This transformative experience continues to influence his teaching to this day. Currently, Dave is the choral director at Salem High School, where he also teaches piano, guitar, and music technology. He lives in Manchester with his wife Patricia, son Mateo, and Max, “the adventure dog”. They enjoy spending time in the beautiful outdoor setting of New Hampshire, including many trips to local parks and walks on the Rockingham Recreational Trail.
Jessica Gallant
Teacher
I grew up on the North Shore, in Beverly Massachusetts, as a member of Temple B’nai Abraham and was fortunate enough to have my Bat Mitzvah in Israel. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Salem State College in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s degree from Endicott College in Special Education. I spent the next 8 years teaching in Beverly and Gloucester.
Twenty years ago my husband, Joe and I moved to Londonderry NH, where I taught for 2 years before starting our family. During my children’s early years, I stayed at home. I spent 3 years as director of the TAY Religious School before returning to teaching full time in our home town of Londonderry, where I have currently been working for the past 10 years. We are members here at TAY and both my son, 19, and my daughter, 16, received their Hebrew names and were called to the Torah as a Bar/Bat Mitzvah in this sanctuary. I enjoy music, exercise, a good book, a meal I didn’t have to cook and everything family!
In addition to attending Temple Israel's Hebrew School as a child, Zoe has worked as an assistant teacher and substitute for five years. She is excited to be working as a teacher this year and is looking forward to meeting everyone. Zoe has a bachelor's from Simmons University in media arts and web design. She has also studied early childhood education at the Manchester School of Technology. In her free time, she enjoys drawing and writing stories with friends.
